Varnish is a web accelerator platform, which caches information for the sake of faster response times. It’s sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy as well and it interacts between a web server and a browser. When a visitor opens a certain page, the content is requested by the Internet browser, and then the web server handles this browser request and sends back the necessary content. If Varnish is activated for a certain site, it will cache its pages on the first visit and if the user visits a cached page once more, the info will be delivered by the accelerator platform instead of the server. The boosted load speed is an end result of the much faster response time that Varnish offers as compared with any web server software. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that the visitors will continue seeing the exact same content again and again, because any change on any of the web pages is reflected in the content that Varnish keeps in its system memory.

Varnish in Cloud Web Hosting

Varnish comes as an optional upgrade with all our cloud web hosting plans. You can add it to your web hosting account via the Hepsia Control Panel, which is available with all shared web hosting plans and you will get a quite simple-to-work-with graphical interface, which will give you complete control over the caching platform. Using 1-click quick-access buttons, you can reboot or deactivate any of the instances, in other words – Varnish will no longer be activated for a particular Internet site. You can also see an in-depth system log or erase the cache associated with any of the sites. When you add Varnish to your shared hosting plan, you’ll be able to select the total amount of system memory that will be available to you for content caching purposes and the number of the sites that will use Varnish. You can always order more memory in increments of 32 MB and, for optimal performance, you can get a dedicated IP address for the websites that will use Varnish. This will enable you to get the most out of your Internet sites and to have lots of happy website visitors.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers

All our semi-dedicated hosting plans come with Varnish by default, so you can take advantage of the web accelerator and boost the speed of any site that you host on our platform. You will get 64 megabytes of memory dedicated to the Varnish accelerator at no additional fee and you will be able to add an instance with no more than a couple of mouse clicks through the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated plans. If you need more memory, the latter is offered in increments of 32 MB in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section and it will be at your disposal momentarily. You can also order more instances as an upgrade, so you can decide whether lots of content will be cached for a single website or whether the memory will be used by different Internet sites. Hepsia will permit you to restart or to deactivate any instance, to view the system log file for it or to delete the cached data using single-click controls. To get the most out of the Varnish accelerator, you can get a dedicated IP for the sites which will use it.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

You can employ Varnish in order to accelerate the loading speed of any website that is hosted on a dedicated server with us when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is pre-installed on the machine. Not only will you get the content caching platform ready for use at no extra cost, but you will also exert full control over it via Hepsia’s intuitive graphical interface. It will take only a click to start or stop an instance or to delete the cached files associated with any website that is using Varnish and if you are more competent, you can also check the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with at least 3 GB of memory for data caching purposes, so even in case you host a huge number of sites on your machine and they all use the Varnish platform, the difference in their overall performance will be perceivable. You’ll simply have to wait for a while till Varnish caches whatever pages the site visitors load on their end. The platform performs best if the sites use a dedicated IP, but considering the fact that our servers include three cost-free IP addresses, you will have all that you need.
